Project 7

This undersized XBOX 360 controller was modified for a wounded Marine that had lost his right thumb and part of his right middle finger. The smaller controller was easier to hold with his left hand. Without the ability to use his right thumb for the action buttons and right thumbstick, several major changes had to be made. First, the 4 action buttons were moved to a more comfortable location which he could press with his right index finger while supporting the controller as best he could. The right thumbstick was relocated to the right underside where his other fingers could move it. Several iterations were made including a clear controller with just an underside joystick. The Marine that this was made for was already departing Walter Reed at the time so there was very little time to develop this approach. The result, while not ideal, was still playable with his XBOX 360 games.
