project-22

This project was very unique. Marine Seargent and quadruple amputee, John Peck requested a way to use his paintball gun. Lacking hands, it would be extremely difficult to use an approach along those lines. Instead we chose an approach using his rugged TrackChair. We designa and fabricated a frame which would attach to the mounting points on the back of the chair. This frame would hold the gas cylinder, control box, batteries, gun and turret. The turret would be aimed using a joystick attached to his wheelchair and operated using his left nub. The firing control would be a flat button attached to the chair arm and operated by his right nib. Using these controls, john would be able to aim and fire his gun at will. The project was a challenge for the team but in the end proved to be a successs.
