Project 10

This third-party brand PS3 controller was made for an Army Specialist who lost his left hand roughly mid forearm. While others who have lost hands at the wrist can use the tiny D-Pad riser we have added many times, this application required a slightly more pronounced D-Pad extension. This was due to the size of the forearm at the point of amputation. The relatively large diameter of his forearm compared to a wrist prevented him from getting close enough to the D-pad without hitting the left joystick. The taller riser helped him access both d-pad and joystick properly. The left L1 and L2 functions were added to the right underside where they can be accessed by the middle and ring finger of his right hand. Once again, these buttons were not randomly added. They were placed in the exact location the player needed them to be for his hand size.
